Il Molino is a charming cafe nestled on Battersea Park Road, London, offering a delightful spot for breakfast, brunch, or a casual lunch. This inviting venue is known for its exceptional range of pastries and savory options that cater to varied tastes. Whether you're craving a flaky croissant, a rich and creamy egg benedict, or the truly iconic Pastel De Nata, Il Molino serves each dish with an evident passion for quality and flavor.
Step inside, and you’ll find a cozy atmosphere complemented by a mix of indoor seating and a few outdoor tables—perfect for people-watching on a sunny day or enjoying a peaceful coffee break. The aroma of freshly baked muffins, coffee cakes, and espresso immediately welcomes you, setting the tone for a comforting and satisfying experience.
Regulars like Moni C. praise Il Molino’s friendly staff and fondness for their pasteis de nata, a Portuguese custard tart that melts in your mouth with just the right balance of sweetness and crispy crust. The coffee here is a standout feature, with options ranging from robust flat whites and cappuccinos to a decadent iced mocha, which Ben Fish credits as a true gem during lockdown times. The baristas’ precision in crafting each cup is evident, serving coffee that tastes as vibrant and warm as their hospitality.
One visit isn’t enough to explore all the treats on offer. Daann’s story of a specially blended smoothie, whipped up by the ever-friendly Aaqil, emphasizes the staff's genuine attentiveness and ability to make each guest feel valued. This thoughtful, personalized service shines through and transforms a simple coffee run into a memorable moment.
While dishes such as the aubergine and mozzarella focaccia (known locally as rostico) showcase the bakery’s fresh and high-quality ingredients, some customers, like Lubna SA, note room for a bit more punch in the sandwich flavors—reflecting the cafe’s openness to evolving and enhancing their menu. Complementing savory options with sweet indulgences like chocolate and lemon cannoli rounds out a well-curated menu aimed at satisfying both hearty and sweet cravings.
Though Il Molino leans slightly towards the pricier side, the quality of its offerings, the warm ambiance, and the attentive service make it a worthwhile destination for locals and visitors alike. Each visit promises a blend of familiar comfort and subtle surprises—from the light flakiness of a croissant to the rich depth of a perfectly pulled espresso. Il Molino is more than just a cafe; it’s a place where everyday moments are elevated by excellent food, great coffee, and genuine connections.
For a welcoming cafe experience featuring an expertly baked assortment of pastries, fresh sandwiches, and outstanding coffee in Battersea, Il Molino stands out as a local favorite worth discovering again and again.
Il Molino offers a wide range of pastries and savoury options to have breakfast, brunch or lunch. Has a few tables outside as well as inside. Really enjoyed the pasteis de nata and staff was very friendly!
I’m a big fan of II Molino. The staff are lovely, and it was a god send during lockdown. The coffee is equally as good, as well as the pastrys and food. The iced mocha is very good! I’m local to Battersea, and I have to say it’s the best coffee place around. A little expensive these days, but it’s well worth a visit (or three)
Popped into Il Molino Cafe the other day and was chuffed to bits with the service. Aaqil, the top bloke behind the counter, whipped up a smashing special smoothie just for me. It was absolutely lush! The flavours were bang on, and it really hit the spot. Aaqil was proper friendly and had a right good natter with me. All in all, a brilliant experience. I’ll definitely be popping back for more!
Had the aubergine and mozzarella focaccia (Rostico) the bread was nice and fresh but unfortunately the sandwich missing flavours. Had chocolate and lemon cannoli which was good and crunchy. Good customer service
